Good Rich People by Eliza Jane Brazier

3.0

Ready or Not (2019 horror/thriller film) is the image that runs in my head while I was reading this.

The storyline is interesting as it revolves around this tradition of an ultra rich family, the Herschels, where they allow one rich member to stay in their guesthouse for free without knowing that said guest is being played by the Herschels until the guest's life is doomed.

But this time, someone who doesn't fit the Herschel's standard accidentally joined the game and she is bound to turn the tables and eat the fucking rich.

It was a thrilling read and easy to follow since there were only a handful of characters involved. The storyline is as it is and the writing style is easy to digest.

I'm just weirded out by the pacing because the changing POV between Lyla and Demi is confusing especially when one repeats the scene that is already discussed by the other.

Overall, a thrilling read and there are decent curveballs but this book has no life-changing impact imho.

Eat the rich, let's go!
