basically DNFed at 50% but I did read the last chapter and discovered that I still wasn’t missing anything. And yes I’m counting this towards my reading goal bc I feel like after reading half of a book you know whether it will get better or not enough to basically say you read it.
Anyways. I don’t have much to say about this book other than the fact that the plot was boring. The characters were not likable. And the overall theme was also boring. Superheroes have never been my cup of tea so that was probably the main reason I didn’t enjoy this one. I also didn’t enjoy Sketch/Adrian’s povs at all. On top of that it was so confusing bc the author would go back and forth between their “code/superhero” names and their normal names and I couldn’t remember who was who.
Overall, really disappointing because I heard amazing things about this book and I usually enjoy books by this author but if fear this book is a victim of the early booktok overhype train.
Read if you want but I didn’t enjoy.
(It’s very rare for me to dnf a book and I literally just couldn’t read this anymore)
