I thoroughly enjoyed this book weigh more than I expected to. Ghosts, gothic vibes and “ the dead” are not usually themes I gravitate towards and enjoy, but I devoured this book!
First off I absolutely love Signa’s character and Death. The banter between them is thoroughly enjoyable and witty in a very dark setting. The side characters were just as enjoyable, and I found myself drinking up all the dialogue.
The mystery in itself was probably my least favourite part of the book. Some parts I found were obvious, and then there were some scenes that I felt, or randomly placed an order to provide a clue to solve the mystery. However, I am typically not somebody who reads or enjoys mysteries, which is probably why that was my least favourite part of this book.
The ending was bitter sweet and I was surprised it wasn’t a standalone. I’m intrigued to see where book 2 will go and I expect nothing but good things!
