This book was wonderful! Jane/Biyu and August are so lovable, as are every single one of the side characters. I am so glad that the book ended the way that it did, because I was not happy when Jane/Biyu actually seemed to end up back in time. I know that seemed like the most likely scenario but it was heartbreaking all the same. I am definitely still curious what happened during those months she was gone, because I don’t feel like we were really given any context on that. Other than that, the book is sweet. It definitely took turns that I did not expect, though the end result is exactly what I was hoping for (which is personally how I like my books to end).
Minor: Homophobia, Racism, Grief, Lesbophobia, and Alcohol
There are times when they discuss these things, but never in a way that I personally found to be triggering. However, it is important to know that they do come up.
