"But all of it, the crowns and other people's opinions and the protocol, we can figure that out. Because those things don't really matter. But if they ever start to matter, if they threaten to overwhelm us, I pledge, from my soul-that I will always choose you. I will choose us."
this book is so bad lmao like it’s so bad it’s COMICAL. it’s basically about the prince of england (edgar) who falls in love with this ordinary american guy (carter) and it’s literally the most useless story ever. anyone who says this book is a ripoff of red white and royal blue would probably be right except for the fact that red white and royal blue is a fucking MASTERPIECE, and playing the palace is equivalent to a dumpster fire. 0 emotional depth, 0 character development, 0 flow of events, literally everything felt completely random and out of the blue, and also 0 chemistry between the main characters. literally the build up was about 2 seconds and then suddenly they were in a relationship???? they had NO chemistry like at this point i wanted them to break up when they were about to💀. tension and chemistry is one of the most important things in a romance book and it was just not present in this at all, which made me heavily dislike it. they just kind of felt like 2 people who were accidentally thrown together and then only knew each other for like fucking 2 months but still decided to get MARRIED???? like girl please. as if. it was SOOOO BAD.
also, for the record, i don’t really mind it if a book isn’t particularly realistic, as long as it’s written well and enjoyable for me to read. another key difference between this book and rwarb bc yes that book is also unrealistic but it’s written beautifully and it actually makes sense and follows a clear sequence of events. but THIS??? this book is so incredibly unrealistic it’s honestly hilarious. it was so unrealistic to the point where the plot did not even make sense to me lmao.. i was just wondering about the logistics of it the whole time. would not recommend this at all lol.
