The Fascination by Essie Fox

4.0

I'm going back and forth on how to rate this. I definitely enjoyed it, especially in the beginning, and appreciated the touches of macabre and the mysteries interlacing throughout the novel. But the speech could feel unnatural and exposition-y. Likewise, the writing of the Keziah sections felt like this too and I wonder if there's a version of this book where it was only written in third person. But on the whole a fascinating book that I'm very glad to have read.
