A masterful alternative history laced with fantasy retellings, wicked men and powerful women, and more magic and nursery rhymes than you can shake a cedar staff at. This is a marvelous tale and not once could I predict where it was going or what childhood story or lore would appear next. Absolutely recommend to anyone who likes history, fantasy, or novels about who holds power.

I started this on audio and finished it in print - it is quite lengthy, but worth the effort! I don't think this would have taken me as long if I had just read start to finish in print.
