I wish I could put books into categories like on Letterboxd. This one would go with Ice by Anna Kavin and The World According to Garp by John Irving in “books that were so weird that I would never recommend to anyone but that I very much enjoyed”. the shifting voice and labyrinthine passages reminded me of the twists and turns of the Casa as well as the estate full of monsters. I loved the emphasis on perspective of beauty and horror and what separates yourself from others. This was a monster of a book and I don’t think I will ever forget it.
