Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
5.0
Ahhhh ... Anne. I've read this multiple times before at different ages and stages of my life, and I love it, as always. This was the first time I'd listened to it (Narrated by Susie Berneis) and I really enjoyed the audio. I've got a gazillion (I'm not even exaggerating!) books at my fingertips, but when this was offered inexpensively ($2 on Chirp) I figured it would be good to have on hand. A book I know, that I could put on here and there as I was trying to fall asleep, one that it didn't matter if I fell asleep while listening as I know the story so well.
That's exactly what I did. Most of my book time was devoted to new books, but for those times when I was drowsy and not quite concentrating enough, I'd switch to this and relax and relive Anne.
I liked this narrator. When it started up I wasn't completely sold on her voice. I am a big fan of the Megan Follows mini-series, so those are the voices I have in my head I think. But she soon won me over and I'm happy she has narrated almost all the other books, as I plan to experience them in audio as well.
While I have read the entire series (1-8) a couple times, I'm not quite as familiar with all the sequels as this first book. I did grab the set (1,2, 3, 5, 7, 8) from Kobo for a credit, and my library has 4&6 (different narrators, I guess that's why they aren't included in the set, but not sure why the narrator didn't do those two books too? Some backroom audiobook drama?)
