Abandoned: Hauntingly Beautiful Deserted Theme Parks by Seph Lawless
1.0
Got this as a Christmas gift because I love creepy places. If I was solely using this to get in a certain mindset for writing, it hit the mark. But I’m also a photographer so some images were just… not it for me. I understand the value of using raw images over tweaking them slightly in photoshop, but some were so dark I could hardly tell what was going on. Some weren’t in focus. Most of them seemed like he just held the camera up to his eye and snapped a photo without trying to explore unique angles, get low, go high, etc. The images that were good were outstanding, but then I looked into the artist himself and… I don’t know what to think? Some images may be fake or stolen (which would explain many being bland but some being amazing - are those the stolen ones?), etc etc. So it’s a mess. Sad because I was interested in his other books just for writing inspiration, but I can find that elsewhere instead of supporting a questionable artist.
