The Lamb Will Slaughter the Lion by Margaret Killjoy

4.0

When I first started this novella, I was fairly neutral towards the premise and the characters and everything about it.

But as I stuck with it, I started enjoying the world, the characters, and the eerily prescient parallels with society today. It was an excellent mixture of genres as well, with the underlying commentary not terribly heavy handed while rightfully fitting in with the plot. I do wish there was more opportunity to flesh (ha?) out the world building, but at the same time, part of the wonder/magic of urban fantasy/magic realism is not knowing why, just accepting that the world has always, forever been that way.

Definitely recommended for light horror or urban fantasy fans, especially those who love a diverse queer cast! I love the set up at the end
