I’ve maybe watched two basketball games in my life but this still rang really true, particularly the parts about sports and religion especially reading it while my mets went on a run in my favorite sport. The ideas about place were so interesting and people you share it with and how you grow into and out of it, I was so intrigued by the stories Abdurraquib tells about his life and how he weaves them together and how personal they are but also how it makes you reflect about where you’re from. Just great stuff.
