This was a favorite of mine back in middle school so I definitely needed the reread. It was so great for what I consider to be a middle-grade book. Anita is a typical teenage girl in the 21st century suddenly thrust into a world of magic and faeries. It's a great introductory read for beginner fantasy readers. The plot is a good pace but does move along quicker towards the last 100 or so pages of the book. There was a feeling that I got about a certain character- and when things were revealed I felt very validated in my off opinion. I now have the urge to get the rest of the series so I can really see how everything played out!
