And with that, I have now read all of Elle McNicoll’s books! (I haven’t read the Merry Murder one, but all of her actual books!) and what a book to finish on. This was definitely the most emotionally challenging, and ethically challenging too, but in such a wonderful, and absolutely necessary way. I am so glad that these books exist in the world, and that young people can experience differences in people in a way that I never got to as a child when I was reading. I had no idea about neurodivergent people at all, and although we still have a long way to go, the fact that these books are out there in the world now is such a positive step in the right direction.
Cora and Addie are definitely two of my favourite characters of all time - both with flaws, but both with absolutely amazing, fantastic, wonderful qualities as well - especially their drive to stand up, speak up for what is right.
Thank you Elle for writing such beautiful, wonderful, enchanting books. I am completely in love with all of them and will definitely reread them all many times!
