Mixed feelings. The ending definitely had me crying and I want to add a fourth star for it but I have to admit that for a big part of this book I actually felt more like rooting for Chase. And again...maybe that is actually a reason to add a star... I don't know.. for me 3 stars feels right.
The flashbacks were a nice touch and in those there were moments that I really liked Jasmine. The chemistry felt strong enough but Jasmine as a character in whole didn't stick with me. Not to mention Shannon and Gia. Who straight up gave me mean girl vibes.
Chase however was a gem. I truly liked him. Written as a true good guy and I hoped he'd get a happy ending of his own. He surely didn't deserve this.
Larissa coming out to her mom had me sobbing. That was a very beautiful heartwarming moment.
I understand Larissa's confusion and trying to will herself into liking Chase the way she used to. It felt very realistic. But it dragged on. The plot was simply too thin and if it wasn't for the flashbacks nothing really happened.
3 stars... 3.5 if I could.
