This was my first non romance/fantasy/smut read of the year, and I honestly did not expect to finish this so quickly. Most of the time, it takes me a while to get into a book that isn't a part of my regular genres.
I was immediately intrigued by the opening, and though that it would delve further into the study, but the immediate switch to the fact she was doing this for some cash to buy drugs and was glad she didn't have to give a urine sample, was a little jarring. Although, I've been surrounded by addiction my entire life so not too bad. The references to this throughout the book are interesting, and until the end I didn't really recognize some of these instances.
TLDR (for myself): great book, very spooky but believable, and the illustrations were awesome.
