What My Mother and I Don't Talk about: Fifteen Writers Break the Silence by Michele Filgate

5.0

WOW! I am in awe. This book spoke to me on such a deep and meaningful level. While every story was unique and had it's own message and emotions behind it, I felt quite seen in the words from each author of the essays. A shoutout to Nayomi Munaweera's essay as that felt as though my own thoughts were put on a page. The overall message of the book and the way the essays were brought together made me both feel seen and seeing others and their experiences with this concept of motherhood and childhood that is so greatly intertwined in the way that we process the world.
