M Train by Patti Smith
reflective
slow-paced
5.0
M Train is the first Patti Smith book I have ever read. It's a collection of essays, observations, and winding recollections that takes us from New York, to Japan, South America, England, and many other places.
The book was a beautifully written series of meanderings. Patti Smith talks about a lot of books, writers, and artists here, and I may or may not have marked those references so I can read or look them up one day. I haven't read Murakami's Wind-Up Bird Chronicle yet, but Patti Smith's love for this book makes me want to pick it up sooner rather than later.
I never really knew where a particular passage would lead me, but I was always happy to be on this ride and this journey. M Train was such a pleasure to read, and I plan to read her other works too and slowly listen to all of her music.
