Memorials by Richard Chizmar
4.0
I love Richard Chizmar’s writing. I fell in love with his writing and haven’t looked back, now I eargerly anticipate all his books and am so happy to have got an early copy. This book was utterly atmospheric and gave me all the creepy vibes. I’ve never been to the Appalachian Mountains, but books always make it feel so creepy. I wonder if that is how it truly is in real life. This book started on the slow edge of the pacing spectrum. I found myself wondering if I should push through, but I was determined. The author carefully built up each character and had me staying invested. Like I said, I was determined to figure out what was awaiting these characters, and the wait was so worth it. The book picked up speed towards the middle, and then I felt like we were off to the races, and it was a wild ride. This book was so suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat. I kept wondering what way this one was going to go, and then it did, and my mind was blown and I’m pretty sure I had nightmares. Just wow.
If you are looking for a creepy and atmospheric ride, then you need to check this one out.
