Never Have I Evan by DJ Jamison

4.0

Such a great story.

It was fun, kind, and not too heavy, but with great character development. Evan is awkward and an introverted tech geek, which leads to an amusing meet-cute with Dawson, his BFFs very hot straight cousin.

Dawson has moved to town, looking for a fresh start after a tragic accident left his life in disarray. His football career dreams are lost bought he has a chance to find a new passion as Assistant Coach at the local high school.

As these two end up forging a friendship, with Dawson trying to teach him the art of Flirting, Dawson starts to realize he may not want Evan to get any real-life experience at it.

”I don’t want to be your warm-up for the love of your life. I want to be the one.”

I love a bi/pan awakening. There's something really lovely about someone coming into their feelings. Their flirting is a lot of fun, and it was great the way each of them helped the other find the courage to really embrace the life and dreams they longed for.

A bit on the long side, but I moved along pretty well and had enough going on to keep it moving. Already looking forward to the next one.
