Persist by Elizabeth Warren

3.0

Basically, this book is an argument for each of Warren's plans as set out in her 2020 presidential campaign platform.

My reading experience was definitely effected by the current political situation. This book was obviously written in the aftermath of the 2020 election when Warren had lost the nomination but Democrats secured the house, senate, and presidency. Now we're in a very different moment politically (to say the least) and it's tough to hear a woman talking about her failed bid for the presidency and her relentless optimism that good things are possible if we work hard. It's definitely not a bad book, it's just not a book that gives me what I need right now. If it's on your TBR, I'd say to keep it there for now and maybe revisit it in 2026.
