Selene has an unusual problem being a witch, everytime she uses magic she loses memories. Only issue is she doesn't get to pick or choose which ones so she keeps numerous notebooks with important infomation, infomation to function in daily life and things she just doesn't want to forget.

She has applied to the school for witches but because of this disability she is rejected. After trying one more time they tell her she needs to on a journey that will profoundly impact her and find herself a familar ( animal connection) Well she goes on her journey and quickly finds herself lost in a jungle waking up some ancient warrior who is quite mad at her.

She comes home gets accepted to the school and begins her journey to learn all about her magic, witches customs and having a college life. Only problem is this warrior has followed her back home, witches are being murdered and someone is out to destroy her life.

Thalassa writes with such passion they can't help feel bad for Selene and her memory issues, we get some laughs as Selene bonds with her familar and when Selene decides to confront her enemies we feel her rage.

The part I love about this book is we don't get a HEA, the book solidly concludes this story at the same time you can't wait to devour the next book to see how Selene is going to clear her name and the wrath she will make happen against who did this to her
