Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson

  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? No

4.5

From the very first pages, the narrator directly addresses the readers, creating an immediate connection and total immersion in this intriguing investigation.
One of the aspects I enjoyed the most is this engaging way of telling the story. The narrative style, infused with humor and self-deprecation, plays with the reader's expectations and occasionally breaks the fourth wall, making the reading experience particularly immersive. This unique tone draws us into a story where every family member seems to have something to hide, without making us feel the need to guess the culprit’s identity too soon.
The multi-chapter climax was brilliant!
All in all, a well-crafted plot, an engaging tone, and a successful ending make this a book I highly recommend.
