I’d round up from 3.5. This story definitely held my interest and I liked the twists and turns of the mystery. However, there were a significant number of characters to keep track of. It also felt like the main character held more modern ideals that didn’t quite fit the time period, in my opinion. The writing was good overall, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it to others.
