Stuck with You by Ali Hazelwood
5.0
Mara’s friend Sadie struggles to trust people – especially when it’s clear that they’ve betrayed her. Or, at least, when she’s been told that someone has betrayed her.
Sadie and Erik have a perfect meet-cute and spend the entire day not wanting to leave one another, but aren’t sure if it’s too soon to admit that. Despite having to go to work, they meet back up and spend a wonderful night together that Sadie, at least, cannot stop thinking about. But when she gets to work the next day and her boss tells her to be careful of the man she just met, she can’t help but feel worried. Then she discovers that her boss was right and Erik had used her. Now she spends months trying to forget and avoid him, but finds that she can’t when locked in an elevator with him during a power outage. But once they break the ice on the elevator floor, nothing is what Sadie expected.
Erik is distraught and doesn’t know why she ghosted him. He thinks it’s because of one thing, and she thinks it’s because of another. But can Sadie trust him? After months of viewing him as the enemy?
Ali Hazelwood is a master. I love everything she writes and I love the characters that she creates – they’re REAL. Real people with real flaws and real aspirations and quirks. It’s amazing. If you haven’t read anything by her yet, PLEASE do. This one has a great meet-cute, close-proximity, and second chance romance feel to it. And you can’t forget about the women in STEM focus, either.
