This was just lovely. I fell in love with David’s writing in One Day, loved Sweet Sorrow and loved this just as much. The banter and humour is so British that it had me laughing along to the audio. I felt like I wanted to go for a long walk after reading it because the descriptions of the countryside are so immersive. It made me feel so lucky to live in walking distance of such beautiful surroundings.

I adored both of the main characters and it made a nice change to read about two people over the age of 40 falling in love and experiencing all of the emotions that younger adults experience. I’m not a feel good book person but this has so many sad, emotional themes that it still pulled on my heart strings. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
