Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender
4.0
TW: Drug use (weed), transphobia.
This is the Simon vs. the homosapiens agenda for trans people with its own twist since the anonymous messages come from a place of revenge — from both sides.
I was so close to stop reading it because some of the conversations Felix has with his friends feel cringe and unnatural, but I'm glad I stuck around to finish it. I kind of expected the plot twist, though I'm not mad about it, instead, I was, like "of course it was that!".
I also didn't like the drugs being mentioned a lot. I don't like reading about minors doing drugs, though this is personal and the reason why I didn't give it five stars.
It had very funny moments. It feels fresh and an expected American contemporary YA, just with the mayority being queer, which I'm here for! It's the kind of story I wish it happened to me, the love and acceptance I want in my life.
