This is probably my favorite book of poetry I’ve read so far. Rich has such an interesting and varied voice, and the multiple ways in which she describes desire, embodiment, loneliness, and inheritance — equally through straightforward/narrative-based poetry and stream-of-consciousness — is infinitely engaging. Absolutely essential reading.
