Megan is a college student who is being harassed by a website with stalker postings and scary threats. She is murdered and Hatcher the NYPD cop is assigned the case. In the beginning they research into this website and how it contributed to Megan's murder. Pretty soon, that angle is dropped and focus turns to the roommate with a past that can't be traced. Earlier Hatcher had another murder that she was working, and they are told parellal through the book, when the cases collide the book falls flat.
