More thorough review to come. This was painfully bad. For a first attempt on any of Ms Days books, this was spectacularly painful to read. Apart from the dullness of the entire plot and the mundane characters, it was all just really badly written. End of. Will have to reconsider my thoughts on picking up the next book in the duology or any of her books for that matter. Even the smut didn’t smut enough! Totally missed the target. Which was to entertain. Not drive me to sleep every time I’d sit down to read a chapter. In the end I had to resort to the audiobook version on a 2.2x speed to finish this off - which FYI one of the character’s narrator (Aaliyah) sounded so robotic in a normal speed it was just awful! Such a let down of a book.
