Where Fools Have Tread by Jennifer Cody
4.0
After the loss of his uncle several years prior, Dec is alone and floundering. Everything changes for him though when he stumbles into a magic shop and gets a tarot reading from its kind of creepy owner.
Next thing he knows he's graduating butler school and employed by a very eccentric gentleman and his equally odd nephews, one of which is a huge thorn (get it thorn... Thoren?!) in his side. Dec does his best to keep things professional, but he can't help but be attracted to the massive man who loves to pick on him.
Honestly I've never read a Jennifer Cody book up until today and that's a travesty! I wasn't sure what to expect going into Where Fools Have Tread because of that, but this was silly and fun and a great start to the Tales from the Tarot series. Plus who doesn't love gargoyles and intergalactic shenanigans?!
