A collection of essays more than a pure memoir, which means that some ideas and stories are repeated throughout. The writing is on point and Villareal has connected her love of pop culture to deeper themes in both her own life and society than I think I've ever seen done before.
Even if you're not into some of the things she talks about (like Dragon Age games, Game of Thrones, or Star Wars), she goes in-depth into her ideas enough that you're able to grasp the meaning.
Incredibly well-written and I look forward to reading more from the author.
