An incredible slow-burn romance full of soft touches, heated moments and heartwarming interactions. I absolutely loved Ziggy and Sebastian together and how tender and considerate they were. I also loved how communication was such a key part of their relationship at different stages, and so there wasn't the third-act breakup. I loved seeing the evolution from fake friends to real friends to something more, and seeing them break down their walls for each other was so touching. I loved that they were each able to unlock something in the other and helped them be brave in finding their voice and in feeling their feelings.
I loved seeing glimpses of the other Bergman members, and Ren and Sebastian's friendship was so pure and fun to see more of. I also loved that there was lots of different representation and that it was done with so much authenticity and compassion.
I loved that Ziggy was a recognized professional athlete in her own right, and I really enjoyed reading more about soccer. I did struggle a bit with the length and how slow burn the book was, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it.
Overall, this is the ultimate slow-burn, brother's best friend, sports romance between two people learning to be brave.
