Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

I was actually planning to criticise this book because there are a lot of negative reviews about it on the internet.
But apparently I have a weakness for 2010s YA vibes.
At first I didn't realise that this wasn't a typical fantasy story, but also contained elements of science fiction and dystopia. Many moments reminded me of "The Hunger Games", but that didn't bother me.
I enjoyed the first book and was sceptical about Maven right from the start, which was confirmed. The ending was unexpected and I'm looking forward to the next book and the search for the Reds with special abilities.
4,5/5 ⭐
