Is the story good? No, not really. Have I read it 5 times in the last 3 years? You betcha.
This is a glacial burn story with a heavy focus on ‘pastoral scenes’, we see every detail of everything like ‘opening the cupboard, opening the bag of chocolate chips, taking a handful of the chips, adding the handful to the batter, stirring it in’- you get the picture. The book series is still ongoing and the author plans to write 20 books for the series, all are planned to be clean romance so if you’re thinking it will get spicy you’re going to be disappointed. The characters are very young and the original audience for the series is probably going to be 40 before it’s done.
The most annoying part on rereading is that this book series takes place over just a few months of time, but since there is so much time between the books the evolution of modern technology has made a lot of the series obsolete and what was a modern contemporary story is soon becoming historical romance with all the Gameboy talk and old iPhone versions
