Daphne Du Maurier and her books have been a bit hit or miss with me. I loved Jamaica Inn but wasn't all that fussed on Frenchman's Creek. I left reading Rebecca until after those two as I've seen the Hitchcock film so presumed I knew what happened. It turns out my memories of the film weren't very good but this was a good thing as I got to enjoy all the twists and turns of the book. I don't think I've ever read a book where you don't learn the main character's / narrator's name – interesting. Great book, start to finish.
