This is such a mess. I feel like the author realized she had too many ideas and fit them all into one book. It really feels like it needed to be a 5 book series (at least) with more breathing room OR just cut some things out. This book is pulled in fifty directions and none of it has enough time to feel genuine or important

The Cam thing,,,, unnecessary. You could've shown them forming an emotional bond without that, c'mon.
