In a turn of tragedy, Raven finds out she’s a vampire slayer after being helped by a “stranger“ (Khamari) and taken in by the Slayer Society where she excels. The abrupt introduction of a romance element 25% in was...a choice. Khamari was desert thirsty for the snarky prodigy. At first, they were giving Great Value brand Buffy & Angel but grew on me. The plot dialed back in at the 50% mark when everyone had to put on their thinking caps in preparation to save the world. The plot twist at the 70% mark gagged me. The open ending left room for a series continuation. The plot development was slow, but the second half was more than worth it.
