Marked as the original lesbian coming out story, I'm quite conflicted with my thoughts on this book.
On the one hand I think it's very well written with well thought out characters. It also contains some key thoughts and discussions that remain relevant today.
On the other hand this is most certainly a book of its time. Some of the subject matter is.....bleurgh. Underage sexual encounters (when I say underage I mean children), taking advantage of drunk friends, discussion of incest between a mother and daughter that the main character sees no problem, with among other things.
Overall, I think this book is worth reading if you can stomach the content mentioned above.
