All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy
5.0
This may actually be my favorite McCarthy novel. I read this as part of an adaptation theory course and compared the novel to the film. I think the novel is, as always, better than the film that was adapted from the novel.
The lack of apostrophe, comma, actual sentences, can become a little bit annoying. If you cannot get past this within the first chapter or two, you won't enjoy this novel.
But if you want a beautiful western themed historical fiction novel, pick this up.
Admittedly, I need to read the next books to see if they are as good. But this book is so amazing, I don't even want to get into the details. You just need to read it.
