The Caretaker by C.P. Harris

5.0

Omg this book! The Caretaker is amazing of course. It’s different from The Good Liar and The Fishermen but not in a bad way at all. Where The Good Liar and The Fishermen had that raw, crazed, intense possessiveness, The Caretaker had more angst. Not to say there wasn’t spice because of course there was. It was heartbreaking at times. I felt for both Noon and Solace pretty equally in this story.
Noon was in an accident that caused him to lose memories from the past two years completely and his other memories were spotty.
Solace, ugh my heart really broke for him. All the loss he suffered. Losing Noon but not to death, but by Noon’s loss of memory, had to be another level of pain. He was grieving someone still alive. Ugh.
Noon is retracing his steps before the accident and that’s how he and Solace become reacquainted. Noon feels the pull towards Solace but he can’t understand why. Solace wants Noon to remember so badly but doesn’t want to outright tell him things, so he extends friendship towards Noon and hopes he can get him to fall in love with him again.
This story is so beautifully heartbreaking. I love that we get dual POV but also that Solace’s POV is in the past and Noon’s is in the present. We do get our HEA but it’s hard earned.
