What My Mother and I Don't Talk about: Fifteen Writers Break the Silence by Michele Filgate

4.0

I think I’m gonna write an essay inspired by this. So much to think about, the mother and mother wound. My biggest complaint abt these essays/stories is that so many of them center around the father, and the mother is only seen/written in reaction to the father. Isnt that the way it always fucking is. Makes me angry. But real. And often it’s bc of the father that the mother is that way. Some children try to imagine her as her own person, but it’s too sad.
