Never Leave, Never Lie was such an amazing book. The writing was incredible, the story was intriguing.
Alek and Ian definitely had a toxic relationship. Alek had a lot of issues, most of them stem from his quite heartbreaking childhood, but Ian was an enabler, he enabled Alek so he’s not innocent either.
Their story was toxic, heartbreaking, sad and very secretive. Their relationship was built on lies and Ian didn’t even know Alek, not really, even after 3 years but he loved him still.
The story wasn’t quite what I expected but not in a bad way at all. I expected their split or separation to be…more? Longer period of separation maybe? I didn’t expect it the way it went down, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I enjoyed reading these two fight for each other. Alek opening up to Ian and Ian being a VERY forgiving person. Ian essentially saving Alek from himself, Ian did what he felt he had to do to save Alek even if he lost him by doing so.
It was a beautiful story.
