Well-Schooled in Murder by Elizabeth George
1.0
The mystery was fine but there were a couple of really problematic things that infuriated me and made it impossible for me to rate it any higher.
The author repeatedly equated homosexuality with paedophilia. Nope. Don’t like it. Yes it was published in 1990 but come on.
Even worse than that - Detective Inspector Lynley allows a teacher to continue working in a school with adolescents despite the fact that he was caught with CP. Why did Lynley turn a blind eye and not, you know, do his fucking job and arrest him? Because said teacher was once an old chum at Eton and did Lynley a solid.
Miss me with that BS, Elizabeth George.
