The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
5.0
When a camp counselor discovers that the daughter of the wealthy camp owners has gone missing, a frantic search begins, a fifteen-year-old cold case is reopened, and long-buried secrets resurface. Equal parts captivating mystery and family drama, Moore’s latest is set in the stunning Adirondack mountains and finds a careful balance between being both character and plot-driven. Moore expertly incorporates alternating timelines and multiple POVs into the story while making it clear where you are at the beginning of each chapter. I was racing through the pages as the vastly different lives and fates became more increasingly intertwined and was shocked by the big reveal. This is the perfect summer read that I truly think anyone would enjoy. It’s riveting, heartbreaking, and nostalgic as it explores rich people behaving badly, found family, and second chances. It’s one that I’ll return to again and again. Please read it and circle back so we can discuss!
