Short stories by BIPOC authors loosely tied together by a mystery. I liked the concept, but half of the stories didn’t land for me. → A breakup at a traveling circus. Hijinks turn serious in a deadly garden. The Grudge-ish revenge is delivered to racists. An indigenous cautionary tale about outsiders. A magician’s protégé safeguards a package. A prom decoration committee meets a Scream Queens-like fate. A token almost gets spent at a haunted plantation house. A stalker with a green thumb. A girl ventures outside of her dystopian gated community. A teen has an eye-opening experience at a museum. A girl protects her ancestral house. A girl deals with the aftermath of summoning a demon. A house’s unrequited love turns vengeful.
