This book was quite the experience! McCarthy’s writing style takes a minute to get used to but I liked that there were no chapters but quickly paced vignettes. The writing is beautifully descriptive and tense at times as father and son traversed through the desolate landscape. The love between father and son was touching to read and the ending left me crying. It’s a bit early in 2025to talk of favorites but this is sure to end up in my top 10, maybe even top 5, for the year.
