My patience for this ran out at about 50% and absolutely nothing won me back after that point.

The writing is basic and bland, the phrases are repetitive and pretty uninspired, the dialogue is at best passable but mostly predictable and uninteresting.

But I would've forgiven a lot as it's the first in a 30 book series and I'm still looking for a good no brain just silly fun time series to fall back on inbetween heavier reads, however, the teeny tiny yet so strong and so tough FMC who is hardened and scarred yet so feminine and desired yet so not like other girls shtick is so incredibly off putting, topped off with that good old fashioned 90s fat phobic diet culture rhetoric, mixed with the underlying christian stuff, and the subtle racist and xenophobic language choices around any non white American character stacks up so fucking quickly turning it into a deeply unsatisfying read lol.

I won't be continuing with the series, my search continues.
