A Home for the Holidays by Taylor Hahn
5.0
I wasn’t expecting to love this book so much. I started it today and finished quickly because I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a story about grief and finding yourself. I found it to be relatable. I’ve gone through grief and know how the emotions will wave. But it’s also about alcoholism. The MCs mom was an alcoholic. Which I can also relate to. I was bothered for a moment with some content because I didn’t agree with the MC feeling guilt & not anger at her mother for being an alcoholic. But I also realized not everyone’s experiences are the same. It seems like the mom in this had her issues but was still a decent mom.
There’s also a bit of romance in here and a found family. It might be a bit of an insta love thing which is usually not my jam but I just felt like it worked. I loved them for each other. They just clicked.
I just thoroughly enjoyed the story and I think it’ll stick with me.
