generally, i'm not a fan of short story collections, so i didn't feel a huge urge to pick this back up when i wasn't reading it, especially since most of the stories were unsettling or sad. that being said, these stories were well-written and evocative (of course, it's claire keegan after all) and i felt myself being drawn into each of them.
